Our Story
Annette founded Thank You Caregivers out of her own lived experience. As a full time working single parent, she faced financial struggles despite her best efforts to stay self-sufficient. Living paycheck to paycheck, she sought support from community programs and state services only to be told she was just over the income limit for a household of two. She didn’t want to reduce her hours or take a step back; she simply needed short term assistance to keep moving forward.
Annette created this nonprofit to fill that gap: to be a source of support for single caregivers who work full time, don’t qualify for government aid, but still need help during difficult times. Through her professional work as a caseworker and social worker, she has also witnessed the broader needs of vulnerable individuals and she expanded the mission of Thank You Caregivers to serve them as well. Her vision is rooted in compassion, dignity, and the belief no one should have to fall behind simply for trying to get ahead.
